Overview

Canoe Creek Armory & Mercantile is a hometown firearms store in Atmore, Alabama, founded in 2021. It runs a brick-and-mortar shop with gunsmithing, and an online store that ships nationwide to licensed dealers.

It's also our founder's own shop. Aaron built and runs the website, so every feature on it has been tested by a real store with real customers.

What we built

A full online store listing over 60,000 products, including firearms, ammunition, optics, parts, and outdoor gear. Shoppers can search by brand, model, UPC, or manufacturer part number, then check out with their own FFL dealer or pick up in the store.

An AR-15 builder that lets customers start from a complete rifle or a lower and choose each part, with every part checked against the rest of the build.

Armory Club, a paid monthly or annual membership. Member prices show right on the product page and in the cart, and members get discounted transfers and gunsmithing.

Pages that answer customers' questions before they call: FFL transfers, how to buy a firearm online, state shipping restrictions, and a gunsmithing price list with a request form.

Built for a regulated industry

Selling firearms online comes with rules other stores don't have. The site routes guns to a licensed dealer, shows state shipping restrictions up front, and explains the transfer and background-check process in plain language.

Results

The store went from no online presence to nationwide sales in just a few months, adding a new revenue stream on top of the storefront.
